About SLOVSEFF

There is believed to be significant potential for improvement in energy efficiency in the Slovak Republic. The SLOVSEFF II has been established to support industrial energy efficiency projects, renewable energy projects and energy efficiency projects in residential sector. The SLOVSEFF II will help to significantly reduce emissions and will generate considerable amounts of tradable Green Certificates.

In order to overcome the various barriers to sustainable energy investments, the SLOVSEFF II would be complemented by grant funding (the Grant) from the Bohunice International Decommissioning Support Fund (BIDSF). The BIDSF objectives include, in addition to the primary nuclear safety activities, the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy. The Grant amounting to 15 million EUR will fund technical assistance through engagement of consultancy companies’ services, incentives to Sub-borrowers and administration fees to PBs.

Incentive Payments

The incentive payments to Sub-borrowers would be paid directly from the BIDSF to the Sub-borrowers. These payments will be made upon validation (desk-based by the Project Consultant or by the IEE Consultant), ensuring that sub-projects have been successfully implemented before the payments are being made. Completion for each sub-project is determined on basis of construction work being 100% completed with underlying assets commissioned and hence operating, yielding the benefits of rational energy utilization.

INCENTIVE PAYMENTS

Upon successful implementation and verification of completion of every sub-project, the Sub-borrowers will be eligible to receive an incentive payment calculated as a percentage of the loan amount. The levels of incentive payments are as follows:

  • Industrial Energy Efficiency 7,5%

  • Renewable Energy Sources 5-15%

  • Housing Associations 10-15%
